Physicians
The physicians at The Utah Center for Reproductive Medicine are subspecialty trained and Board Certified/Eligible in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. The doctors share information and exchange ideas to continuously learn as the field of infertility advances. The best and most current scientific information is available to patients.
Every patient has one physician who takes responsibility for the patient's evaluation, counseling, and treatment. The assigned physician is available for consultation throughout the individual's treatment and is committed to making sure the patient understands the process. Sometimes it is necessary to monitor a patient's progress through ultrasounds. While the ultrasounds may be performed by other staff doctors, results of these ultrasounds are communicated to the patient's physician as well as any other information pertinent to the patient's care.
Researchers
As an academic medical center, the Utah Center for Reproductive Medicine is committed to increasing understanding of infertility that will lead to improved patient outcomes. Infertility care has improved in recent decades because of research. Fertility care has come a long way but still has room to grow. This is an exciting and important part of the Center’s work and keeps the UCRM in touch with leading academic centers across the nation.
Patients can become involved in research projects at the University of Utah in the field of infertility. Research involving patient care is always explained to patients beforehand and is never performed without patients’ knowledge and consent.
Nurse Coordinators
The Nurse Coordinators guide individuals through their treatment plan. They are experienced in obstetrical and gynecological clinical practice as well as infertility care. Nurses provide patients with information about their personal treatment plan, answer questions, and give compassionate care.
Andrologists/Embryologists
The Andrology/Embryology Department offers a full range of fertility-related laboratory services. Team members are available to answer questions throughout the treatment cycle. Urologists specializing in male infertility are also available for consultations and treatment.
Residents and Fellows
The University of Utah is a teaching university. Therefore, residents and fellows are involved in training at the UCRM. Our program attracts the "best and brightest." We are committed to their training as they learn from patient care. This is an important experience for all involved.
Counselors
A team of counselors is available to provide support during initial evaluation, treatment, and follow-up. These counselors provide help to individuals dealing with the emotional issues associated with infertility.
Financial Supervisor
Financial counseling is provided by a financial supervisor who walks individuals through costs associated with fertility treatments. A discussion of charges will take place at the initial interview, and individuals will receive advice on how to maximize insurance and/or tax benefits.
